Song for Volume III - Issue 12: Webbie feat. Boosie Badazz & Lil’ Phat - Independent
👋🏽 Hello There
We are officially six months down after this day ends. Where has time gone? I’m not exactly sure and it’s been a wild six months for sure, mainly in the best ways when I think about it on a personal level. Really blessed to experience all the things I’ve been able to do these past six months.
I didn’t think I would have a ‘euro summer’ this year but due to work I did find myself in Europe. And managed to squeeze in a weekend of fun in Paris too. So that counts, right? Also, what’s wild is that until my recent visit I hadn’t been to the ‘City of Love’ in 14 years but managed to be at CDG 15 - 20 times in the past five years 😂.
If I could have it my way, I want to go back Paris soonish, maybe PFW? Who knows a lot can happen between now and early October. I know a lot of people shit on CDG but it’s one of my favorite airports and it’s usually so seamless for me (very thankful and grateful for this).
On my flight to Lisbon, the person behind me sounded like they were about to turn into a zombie. Which made me think, could you imagine being stuck on airplane and then people start turning into zombies? I would be interested in seeing a movie like that even though the odds of survival are slim to none. Also, in Lisbon, I had this bomb octopus dish but I accidentally splashed olive oil on my silk shirt 😅😭. My wonderful co worker asked the waiter if they had a stain removal product; and they did! It was like magic and saved my shirt!!! I wish I did a before and after because it was like those infomericals from the 90s/early 2000s. I didn’t have time to purchase my own while in Lisbon but on my next trip will try to get a can or two.

Seeing all the Cowboy Carter videos from the London and Paris concerts makes me want to see Beyonce again in Vegas. Will I go? Well, I’m not too sure what I’ll do lol. See you all in July!

![]() ![]() One of the bowls I purchased from a ceramics store in Lisbon Cerâmicas na Linha in Lisbon, PT This store has plenty of options for you to look through. If I brought a carry on in addition to my checked bag I may have been tempted to purchase more than two bowls. The price of bowls I purchased, to me are affordable at ~€8 each. I thought there was a wide variety in colors available to purchase along with a ‘discount/sale’ section. I will be back next time I’m in Lisbon to see if anything else catches my eye Silver Lake Flea in Los Angeles, CA I’m surprised I haven’t stopped by here before but the options were very affordable (some vendors had a $5-10 table or bin to look through) with plenty of options for all styles. There was a bit of Y2K vibes with some of the vendors but did like that there was offerings for both men and women. Some vendors are also down to negotiate on prices as well Mademoiselle Joséphine in Paris, FR This is a vintage store that is well curated of popular brands like Chanel and Pucci. There were quite a few pieces I haven’t seen before too. Also, note this is a small shop so the curation of items -clothing, shoes, and bags within the store isn’t too wide. This store is on the higher end so I would say this is good if you have a holy grail piece you are looking for or want to invest in a vintage piece The walk in between these two shops in Paris is about ~12 mins with lots of other great stores (home (i.e. ceramics, linens etc.), Jimmy fairly and Isabel Marant), and restaurants you can pop by along with two pharmacies goodJo luxury vintage in Paris, FR This shop is by appointment only, you can make one through instagram, email or phone. This store is well stocked as there are over 2,000 pieces for you to peruse. I did a quick browse since I didn’t have an appointment. I was lucky that the person working let me pop in as they were working with someone who did have an appointment. The items within the shop can be eclectic or unique items along with ‘everyday’ clothing. From what I saw the prices can be $$$ to $$$$, depending on what you are looking for you might find a deal or two. FYI in case you didn’t know use archive.org if you need help reading | ![]() ![]() I used the cleanup feature on my iPhone 16 Pro to remove the people who were in front of Moulin Rouge :) Going Out EUROPE Lisbon, PT - Homecooking Lisbon [STUDIO] - Pastel de Nata Cooking Class Paris, FR - Moulin Rouge Staying In Movies The Companion (HBO Max) - Robot companions don’t seem too far off based on the way AI is evolving. The movie is a popcorn thriller movie, I enjoyed it but think that it’s something that you can have on in the background while doing other things. It’s a good plane movie as well Paddington in Peru (Netflix) - An adventurous kid’s movie that takes place in the jungles of Peru. Paddington finds his Auntie gone missing so he and the Brown family go to find her. It’s an entertaining movie that you can watch with or without children when you want something mindless to watch King Richard (Hulu) - I’m not sure why it took so long to watch this movie but I thought Will Smith did an amazing job as well as Demi Singleton (Serena) and Saniyya Sidney (Venus). This movie was engaging from start to finish even though we all know how the Williams sisters’ story goes. I did get a teeny bit emotional during certain parts because I can only imagine the pressure they may have unintentionally felt during their youth as they began to compete competitively. |
![]() ![]() Artwork on view at Bourse Commerce - Pinault Collection Bourse Commerce - Pinault Collection is founded by François Pinault. It represents the art that he has put together over the last fifty years. I wanted to visit this museum in Paris because of the "Corps et âmes" exhibition that featured Arthur Jafa who I’m a fan of. Also, overall enjoyed the museum and the curation of what was displayed. It wasn’t overwhelming and felt like I could take my time and enjoy each piece. ![]() Casa Vicens in Barcelona Casa Vicens Gaudí is the first home created by Antoni Gaudí. This visit overall took about 30 - 45 minutes since I was by myself and used the audio guide to navigate the home. Truly breathtaking in person and the photos don’t do it justice. | ![]() ![]() It’s summer so you the music releases recently have been A+ (for the most part lol). Here’s what’s caught my eye recently. I saw a clip of this audition on TikTok and thought it was pretty cool - Mama Duke Performs "Feels So Good To Be You" Auditions on America's Got Talent 2025 Albums ‘MY FACE HURS FROM SMILING’ by Lizzo - This mixtape is fun and to me is Lizzo expressing herself in a way that she might not be able to with her albums as people might have her boxed into a certain persona. This definitely gives a new side to her, and she has talent as a rapper ‘F1 The Album’ by Various Artists - This soundtrack reminds me what happens when movie soundtracks are done right, a lot of great tunes from various genres and I love the unexpected combo for artist collaborations like Tiësto and Sexyy Red. And based on reviews of the movie this album may be the better end product in comparison Songs we never dated by sombr (Indie Rock) — Arctic Monkeys/Tame Impala fans (like me) you’ll enjoy this song as it has a similar chill/sway about vibe to it Dirty Work by aespa feat. Flo Milli (K-pop)- When you’re that girl, you’re that girl; this would be is one of the songs you’re listening to when you’re getting ready to go out. It’s melodic and catchy IMO Man On A Mission by Black Keys (Alternative) - I like to say there are three famous people from Akron, OH - Lebron James, The Black Keys and me haha. Finding out The Black Keys are from Akron is what made me start listening to their music. This new single doesn’t disappoint and has me looking forward to the new album dropping later this year Other songs I’m Enjoying: Cardi B (Hip-Hop/Rap) - Outside, Karol G (Latin) - Papasito, Erkyah Badu & The Alchemist (R&B/Soul) - Next to You, Teddy Swims (Pop) - Need You More, Wet Leg (Alternative) - davina mccall, Princess Nokia (Pop) - Drop Dead Gorgeous, Fine (Alternative) - Run and Samara Joy (Jazz) - Flor de Lis (Upside Down) |
