Tanja Caldwell

Tanja Caldwell has built a reputation as an accomplished Costume Designer and Wardrobe Stylist, drawing from her diverse experiences in the fashion and film industries. Her creativity, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to capture the essence of characters through clothing have made her a highly sought-after designer. Whether working on high-budget blockbuster films or styling celebrities, Tanja’s unwavering passion is evident in every project she takes on. When she was an undergraduate continuing her education at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, Tanja honed her wardrobe styling skills by working with celebrity musicians such as Big Boi of OutKast, Ludacris, and Janelle Monae for press events, music videos, and tours. This early experience gave her a chance to showcase her talent and further develop her diverse style. After relocating to Los Angeles, shortly after college, Tanja continued to style celebrity clients and began to educate and immerse herself in the world of costume design for television and film. Tanja’s exceptional talent and unwavering dedication quickly led to her working on highly anticipated projects, including the sequel to “Coming 2 America” starring Eddie Murphy and the rest of the original iconic cast and collaborating with the legendary costume designer Ruth Carter on the Academy Award-winning film “Black Panther,” and its highly anticipated sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” which also won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design. Notably, Tanja’s contribution to the costume design of the critically acclaimed film “Queen and Slim” earned her a nomination for ‘Excellence in a Contemporary Film’ at the Costume Designers’ Guild Awards. Tanja’s most recent work includes Netflix’s unforgettable love story based on the best selling young adult author, Judy Blume’s novel “Forever” - created/produced/directed by thee Mara Brock Akil. Tanja also designed all of the amazing costumes for world renowned R&B superstar, Usher Raymond, and his cast featured on the most watched APPLE MUSIC SUPER BOWL LVIII Half-time Show. Her costume design work can also be seen in the highly anticipated 2nd and final season of Issa Rae’s HBO Max Series "Rap Sh!t”. Tanja’s experiences in music, fashion, art, and film have contributed to her well-rounded eye for fashion, styling and designing. Her work ethic, integrity and expertise in her field are evident in her work, where she combines her deep understanding of storytelling with her impeccable sense of style. Tanja’s ability to bring characters to life through her costume designs is a testament to her natural talent and dedication to her craft.
