VOLUME 3 - ISSUE 4: February 24, 2025

👋🏽 Hello There
It’s only been a month but am I the only one in the US who is like, do I need to pay taxes?! Because at this rate, will there be a federal government? To be honest, IDK.
In good news, I’ve been getting comments on how I’m glowing which makes me happy. Not from a vain way but on a deeper level because the work and effort I’m putting in is starting to show on the outside. Although, I do have a new skin care routine so there’s that too. I’ll give you the deets in the next issue!
I was out of the country for a bit on business not personal travel. Okay…I did a teeny bit of personal travel and popped down to Lisbon and over to London.
I really loved Portugal although I spent most of the time in a room with no windows lol. Porto to me is if Madrid and Prague had a baby although the hills and stairs made 10K steps feel like the 20K I did on average in Japan. The amount of hills and stairs plus hills + stairs combo was more than expected. I was so tired after doing so little, it made no sense. The hills in Lisbon were slightly better and there is so much to see there so I’ll have to go back and check out out the city more. I will say both cities are truly beautiful in their own way and if Portugal isn’t on your list, add it!
Also, when they say it’s hard to travel to other places after visiting Japan, it is so so true. I found myself missing things like the luggage delivery service when taking the train to Lisbon. Also, very grateful that me playing damsel in distress worked out so a kind gentleman helped me out and I didn’t have to lift my large suitcase to the top rack of the storage area.
And then there were people and gross moments that had me perplexed:
Walking without shoes on the plane and into the bathroom
Dropping their fork on the floor in the restaurant then picking it up and finishing their meal with same fork
This issue is short cause I’ve been working hard for the money 🙂 . See you in March!
IN THE ‘MEWD’ FOR..
MUSIC ![]() Music releases this year so far have been top notch and really exciting. It’s already great to see artists grow creatively but some are focusing on bringing fun back to music which has a been missing for a bit. This is what has been catching my ear recently: Balloonerism by Mac Miller - TBH I’m not a fan of post humous albums, it feels like a cash grab so I waited on listening to this album. I wish I didn’t because it’s a good one. The music is slower paced and a nice album to kick start your mornings with a cup of matcha (if you’re me) or coffee. This album has mix of a jazz, Little Dragon, Little Brother, and an eclectic vibe. If you haven’t listened to Mac Miller before start with this album. Abracadabra by Lady Gaga - This song is so catchy and anytime I think of it, the song immediately gets put on repeat for a bit in my head. Other songs I’m enjoying: Dream Woman (Suki Waterhouse), cLOUDe (J. Cole), Butterfly (Marina) Side note: I’m not a big fan of any Kpop group but for some reason when the group members do solo albums or songs those catch my attention more ie Blackpink with Born Again (Lisa feat Doja Cat & Raye) and ExtraL (Jennie & Doechii), | FUN Going Out EUROPE Porto, PT - Bokkusu Karaoke Box London, UK - Quill Staying In Movies Back in Action (Netflix) - Humor + Action = my ultimate popcorn movie. Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz work well together in the movie and I found myself completely distracted and not checking my phone during this movie. It’s entertaining enough to keep you engaged but also funny where the jokes don’t feel too corny although there can be a few to be found. Interested to see if they will do a sequel of the movie or let it stand alone on it’s own. Conclave (Peacock) - Okay so the last thirty minutes 😳. This movie is captivating whether or not you are religious. I thought it was an interesting perspective on how the votes come about when selecting the next Pope. It reminds me of a bit of campaigning for your high school election because it’s part popularity contest. You also see where the Catholic Church would like to evolve to based on who is selected as well. Dandelion (AMC+) - Another slow paced movie about chasing your dreams and the everyday life struggles that come with it. And course there are the people we find along the way to support us and guide in the direction of where we should go even if it is the unexpected path. I’m lowkey a sucker for movies like this and thought it was enjoyable. Wolves (AppleTV) - I would describe this as a popcorn thriller action movie with thinking man moments. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible, if you’re a fan of either actor you’ll enjoy it as it’s both of them in their natural element as actors. TV The Recruit (Netflix) - This season the show traveled internationally to Korea and involved the NIS which made for an interesting plot line. This is a popcorn spy but not spy tv show if that makes sense haha |
