Song for Volume III - Issue 10: J. Cole - Love Yourz
👋🏽 Hello There
My mind is empty right now in the best way so I don’t have much to say here but hope everyone’s June is off to a good start! I’ve officially decided that I’m going to give up on the idea of me planning to travel less 😂. You know some things aren’t meant to be. It’s a great problem to have that I’m fortunate enough (blessed and grateful too, of course) to travel to the amazing places I go to along with seeing my friends and family.
Here are a random assortment of things that have caught my eye recently:
LA Dates TikTok account - At this point if someone plans a bad date with accounts like these existing then

Giphy
Discovered these brands recently: shoes - kkerele and clothing - rírán & chenemi
Topanga Creek Outpost (Artisan leather studio in Topanga Canyon) - create custom leather goods
See you in two weeks!

![]() ![]() In between this issue and the last one, I kept saying to myself I need to listen to something else besides Cowboy Carter. Sadly, my phone knows me better than I know myself (which is kind of scary). So when I’m not listening to Cowboy Carter this is I’m what enjoying. ‘Ridin’ by Cuco (Alternative) - I mentioned I was enjoying Para Ti in the last issue and now I’ve had a chance to enjoy the album. This album makes me feel good, and nostalgic. I also want to sit outside and have a picnic while having this album as the soundtrack. Other songs I’m Enjoying: Easy Lover (Miley Cyrus - Pop), Just Keep Watching (Tate McRae - Pop), NOT FAIR (Leon Thomas - R&B/Soul), Nice to Each Other (Olivia Dean - Pop), Main Character (Chxrry - R&B/Soul), Bad As I Used To Be (Chris Stapleton - Country) | ![]() ![]() Hand roll from Sora Temaki Bar Los Angeles, CA -
Beverly Hills, CA - Series A Coffee Oldie But Goodie Los Angeles, CA - Little Fish Recommendations I’ll Share Los Angeles, CA - Supamu Okinawa Onigiri |
![]() ![]() I can give up alcohol but my vice is a sweet treat. As I’m trying to hit some health goals I’ve had to cut down on the sweet treats. I was given this recipe by a college friend (hi JK!) and it definitely hits the spot as it does remind me of eating raw cookie dough (I’m gross but idc lol) Ingredients:
I combine everything basically in the order I see the item and mix really well. After that I enjoy my healthy sweet treat! This makes about 2-4 servings depending on how big you want your spoonfuls. TBH you could eat it all at once! | ![]() ![]() Price - 💵💵💵 — there are expensive items but overall prices seem to be reasonable for the most part Ambiance + Friendly/Knowledgable staff - 👤👤 👤No one spoke to me until I was checking out so not much interaction with staff Fresh & organic produce - None available from what I saw but there is wine! Unique selection of items - ⭐️⭐️1/2 - Nothing stood out to me that I haven’t seen at other places. There are some cooking supplies/tools you can purchase. It is a well curated selection of goods which I appreciate! Prepared foods/hot bar - 🔥🔥🔥🔥. You have two options - Little Fish for breakfast/coffee and lunch. I’m a big fan of the crispy nori potatoes and fish sandwich! For dinner or drinks, you have Dada Echo Park in the alleyway behind Dada Market |
![]() Articles New Yorker - The Chinese Adoptees Who Were Stolen The 19th - Black women were at increased risk for lead absorption during the L.A. wildfires. Here’s why. NY Mag - Everyone Is Cheating Their Way Through College ChatGPT has unraveled the entire academic project. Thrifty Traveler - Exclusive: US Airlines Are Quietly Hitting Solo & Biz Travelers with Higher Fares FYI in case you didn’t know use archive.org if you need help reading | ![]() ![]() Going Out Beverly Hills, CA - Franklin Canyon Hike Movies Thunderbolts* (In Theaters) - I think I suffer from superhero movie fatigue. I needed something more and it’s not to say the movie was bad. It just idk it wasn’t fully there for me. This movie is I assume is more for fans of Marvel than the casual viewer. Mission:Impossible - The Final Reckoning (In Theaters) - THE ultimate popcorn movie! This movie is almost three hours long and TBH I didn’t even feel like I was in the theater for that long. There were two scenes that went a bit long/slow but it made sense in the context of what was going on. It still amazes me to know that all the stunts are done by Mr. Cruise himself which then makes me wonder about how much was spent on insurance costs lol Staying In TV Paradise (Hulu) - I struggled watching this but I did enjoy it. I think if the story was told in a different way then I don’t think I would have struggled watching it. I’m not that it needs to be in a linear storytelling format but it wasn’t fully fleshed out to. I will say I’m going to watch season 2 because season 1 did set a good foundation for what’s to come in the series |
